Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) over alleged corruption during its tenure in power. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly on Saturday, Reddy accused the opposition party of “looting” and questioned their willingness to face an investigation into various schemes implemented during their regime.

Highlighting specific programs such as the Bathukamma sarees distribution and the KCR kits initiative, Reddy called for a thorough probe to uncover any misuse of funds and resources. The Bathukamma sarees distribution scheme, aimed at distributing sarees to women during the Bathukamma festival, and the KCR kits, designed to provide essential items to new mothers, have been under scrutiny for alleged irregularities.

During the debate on the state budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, Reddy emphasized the need for accountability and transparency in government schemes. He challenged the BRS to support an impartial investigation to clear any doubts regarding their governance.

In addition to addressing issues of corruption, Reddy also outlined his vision for the development of Telangana. He announced ambitious plans to expand the Metro rail network to the old city of Hyderabad within the next four years. This move is expected to improve connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and boost economic growth in the historic parts of the city.

The Chief Minister’s speech covered various aspects of the state budget, focusing on infrastructure development, social welfare programs, and economic growth. He assured the citizens that his government is committed to ensuring the efficient use of public funds and implementing policies that benefit all sections of society.

As the debate continues, the opposition’s response to Reddy’s allegations and the proposed Metro rail expansion plan will be closely watched by political analysts and the public alike.
