Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor film has shattered yet another record. The film has emerged as the highest grossing Hindi film of 2024 with an estimated box office collection of Rs 228 Cr in just five days. This movie beat Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter and Prabhas-Amitabh Bachchan’s Kalki 2898 AD to record the highest opening weekend this year with its extended weekend. Stree 2 has also already surpassed the lifetime collection of Fighter.
Stree 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit, has been making waves at the box office. According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, the film collected ₹37 crore on Monday, pushing its total collection to ₹228.45 crore. The movie has already surpassed the Hindi box office collection of Kalki 2898 AD, which ended its run at ₹294.25 crore.
The film benefited from two major holidays, Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan. On Independence Day, Stree 2 raked in ₹51.8 crore, while Raksha Bandhan contributed another ₹37 crore. These holidays saw the highest occupancies in cities like Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur.
Stree 2 brings back the original cast from the first film, including Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. Additionally, the sequel introduces new faces with Varun Dhawan in a cameo as his Bhediya character, and Akshay Kumar hinting at a new villain.
The film has clearly resonated with audiences, further establishing itself as a box office success.
