Prasanth Varma to feature Bollywood actors in the ‘HanuMan’ universe; confirms ‘Adhira’ will release before ‘Jai Hanuman’
Prasanth Varma began the year with the blockbuster success of HanuMan, a Telugu superhero film featuring Teja Sajja in the lead role. Building on this momentum, the filmmaker recently announced two new projects within the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe: Jai Hanuman and Adhira. In a recent update, Varma revealed that he will include several Bollywood actors in these upcoming films.
According to Hindustan Times, Prasanth Varma stated that he is discussing ideas with a few Bollywood actors to expand the HanuMan universe. He confirmed their involvement but emphasized that the project is still in its early stages, saying, “Some actors from Bollywood will definitely be part of the universe we are building, but it’s still in a very early stage.”
Prasanth Varma also explained the decision to delay the release of Jai Hanuman, initially planned for January 2025. The overwhelming success of HanuMan, which grossed over 100 crores, led the team to take extra care in developing the next installment, causing the postponement. He further shared that the team is meticulously working on the script, ensuring that it includes the action scenes fans expect. This time, they are planning the VFX in advance to speed up post-production. Although filming has not yet started, they expect to begin production soon, with casting almost complete.
He also announced that Adhira will be released before Jai Hanuman and mentioned that he is currently working on two additional films, directed by others, with shooting beginning this month. Prasanth Varma stated, “We aim to release one or two films each year.”
