Vrat Fruit Salad is a refreshing and nutritious dish perfect for fasting (vrat) during festivals or special occasions. This salad is typically made with fruits that are allowed during fasting and can be enhanced with a few spices for added flavor.

Here simple recipe to make fruit salad:

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1 pear, diced
  • 1 orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • ½ cup papaya, diced
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh coconut, grated (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon roasted peanuts, crushed (optional for crunch)
  • ½ teaspoon rock salt (sendha namak) or as per taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • ¼ teaspoon roasted cumin powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fruits:
    • Wash, peel, and chop the fruits into bite-sized pieces. Try to keep the fruit pieces roughly the same size for even mixing and presentation.
  2. Mix the Salad:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped fruits—banana, apple, pear, orange, papaya, and pomegranate seeds.
    • Add grated fresh coconut and roasted peanuts if you prefer a bit of extra texture and flavor.
  3. Season:
    • Sprinkle rock salt (sendha namak), black pepper powder, and roasted cumin powder over the fruits.
