Jigra Box Office Collection Day 10: Alia Bhatt Starrer Sees a Small Sunday Boost, Likely to End with Rs 40 Crore Lifetime
Alia Bhatt’s Jigra generated significant buzz when its trailer and songs were released, leading to high expectations, despite being considered a niche, multiplex-targeted film. Many hoped that strong word of mouth would boost its box office performance. However, Jigra has received mixed reviews, resulting in average numbers. This could potentially mark Alia’s lowest-grossing film in years.
Released on October 11, Jigra had a decent start but experienced a drop in collections from the first Monday onward. Even its opening weekend failed to meet expectations, despite releasing during the Navratri and Dussehra holidays, which also impacted the performance of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. By the end of its first week on Thursday, the film had earned Rs 22.45 crore. On Friday, it added Rs 1.15 crore, followed by Rs 1.7 crore on Saturday. Sunday saw a slight improvement, with the film collecting Rs 2 crore on Day 10, bringing its total to Rs 27.30 crore, according to Sacnilk.
In comparison, Vicky Vidya… has earned around Rs 33 crore in its first 10 days. Trade analysts predict that Jigra may end its run with a lifetime collection of around Rs 40 crore, though even that figure may be a challenge to reach. Both films currently have an open window at the box office until major releases like Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 arrive during Diwali.
