Paneer and Capsicum Wrap Recipe

Paneer and capsicum wraps are a great combination of protein and veggies, making them perfect for a healthy snack or a light meal.

Here’s a simple recipe to prepare paneer and capsicum wrap:

Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 200 grams paneer (cottage cheese), cut into small cubes
  • 1 medium capsicum (bell pepper), thinly sliced (use a mix of colors for extra appeal if you like)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small tomato, chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil (for cooking)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)

For the Wraps:

  • 4 whole wheat tortillas (or rotis/chapatis)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise or yogurt (optional, for a creamy base)
  • 1 tsp green chutney (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

Preparing the Paneer and Capsicum Filling:

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw aroma disappears.
  4. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and coriander powder. Stir well to combine and cook the spices for a minute.
  5. Add the capsicum and tomatoes, and cook for 3–4 minutes until the capsicum is slightly tender but still has a slight crunch.
  6. Add the paneer cubes and salt. Toss gently to coat the paneer and cook for 2–3 minutes until the paneer absorbs the flavors.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and remove from heat. Set aside.

Assembling the Wraps:

  1. Heat the tortillas or rotis on a tawa (griddle) until warm and pliable.
  2. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or yogurt on each tortilla (optional) and a little green chutney if you like.
  3. Place a generous amount of the paneer and capsicum filling in the center of the tortilla.
  4. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up to form a wrap.

Serving:

Serve the wraps warm, optionally cut in half for easier handling. They pair well with extra green chutney or a simple salad on the side.
