Kerala Blasters FC staged a remarkable comeback to defeat FC Goa 4-2 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24, securing their first win after three games. The Kochi-based outfit stormed into the fourth spot, handing FC Goa their third consecutive defeat.
In a game of two halves, FC Goa took a commanding lead in the first half with goals from Rowllin Borges and Mohammed Yasir. However, Kerala Blasters FC turned the tide in the second half. Daisuke Sakai started the comeback with a fantastic free-kick, followed by Greek striker Dimitrios Diamantakos, who scored twice and assisted once in the final 10 minutes.
Diamantakos equalized from the spot in the 81st minute before scoring again three minutes later, putting Kerala Blasters FC ahead. He then assisted Fedor Cernych for their fourth goal, sealing the victory and reigniting their campaign.
Dimitrios Diamantakos was the standout performer of the match, with two goals, an assist, and an impactful performance throughout the game. Kerala Blasters FC will face Bengaluru FC next, while FC Goa will take on Mumbai City FC in their upcoming fixtures.
