This post quickly went viral. Fans also recall Sunny Deol’s earlier announcement in June, which celebrated the 27th anniversary of the original “Border” (1997). In a heartfelt video, he shared the exciting news of the sequel, saying, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai” (27 years ago, a soldier made a promise that he would return. To fulfill that promise, and to salute the soil of India, he is returning).
On The Ranveer Show, Sunny Deol also shared that they originally planned to start work on “Border 2” in 2015. However, his box office performance at the time led producers to hesitate, and they shelved the project. After the success of “Gadar 2,” the situation changed for the actor.
Sources have confirmed that “Border 2” will not be a direct sequel but will instead tell a parallel story set on the same night as the events of the original film. Fans are eagerly awaiting this new chapter of the franchise.
