Mollywood actress Jyothirmayi has made a powerful comeback with the recently released thriller Bougainvillea, directed by Amal Neerad. After enjoying a successful theatrical run, the film will soon premiere on SonyLIV. Starting December 13, viewers can stream Bougainvillea at home on SonyLIV. This psychological thriller, co-written by Lajo Jose and Amal Neerad, features Jyothirmayi, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban in lead roles. The film adapts Lajo Jose’s novel Ruthinte Lokam for the screen.
Bougainvillea follows Royce and his wife Reethu as they become embroiled in a crime investigation after someone spots Reethu near a hostel where a girl has gone missing.
ETimes awarded the film a 3.5 out of 5, praising Jyothirmayi’s performance. The review noted, “Malayalam cinema offers plenty of talented female leads who can draw audiences to theaters, and Jyothirmayi excels as Reethu.
