Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson Seek Blessings at Shri Babulnath Temple Before Coldplay’s India Tour
Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson, famed for her role in Fifty Shades of Grey, delighted fans in Mumbai as they prepared for the band’s highly anticipated concerts in India. The couple visited the iconic Shri Babulnath Temple on Friday, seeking Lord Shiva’s blessings ahead of the performances.
Chris Martin embraced Indian culture, donning a pastel blue kurta and a Rudraksha mala, while Dakota looked elegant in a printed cotton suit, covering her head with a dupatta as a mark of respect. The pair, visibly immersed in the spiritual experience, paused to pose for photographers before entering the temple.
A heartwarming moment from their visit was when Dakota whispered her wish into the ear of Nandi, Lord Shiva’s sacred bull—a traditional gesture believed to bring wishes to fruition. Videos and photos of the visit quickly went viral, showcasing their genuine respect for Indian traditions.
Their visit coincides with Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour concerts, set to take place at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, followed by a grand finale at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on January 25.
The couple’s arrival in Mumbai on Thursday evening also made headlines. Chris greeted photographers with a warm “Namaste,” instantly winning over fans, while Dakota, known for her roles in Fifty Shades of Grey and Madame Web, exuded grace and humility.
Coldplay’s bond with India dates back to their 2016 performance at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai, making this tour another thrilling chapter for the band and their Indian fans.
