The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, where India is slated to play three matches in the Twenty20 World Cup, was inspected by Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid. This marked their first visit to the ground, and their initial impression of the pitch was positive, deeming it “normal and good,” with favorable conditions expected for the batters.
Located in New York’s Eisenhower Park, the stadium features drop-in pitches, which have raised concerns about pitch behavior. However, after a few deliveries from Kuldeep Yadav kept low during a practice session at Cantiague Park, where the Indian team has been training, the captain and coach expressed satisfaction with the conditions.
Rohit and Dravid participated in a photo session with the World Cup trophy organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday afternoon, held in the outfield of the ground.

Meanwhile, the Indian team had a full-fledged net session at Cantiague Park on Thursday afternoon, despite overnight rains making conditions wet. The practice session was compulsory, with all players in attendance. There was no specific batting order, as batters were called into the nets randomly. Rohit Sharma, set to open for India, spent some time batting in the middle of the session.
Virat Kohli is expected to arrive in New York on Friday (May 31), having been seen leaving for New York at Mumbai airport on Thursday. He should be in time for India’s warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1, although his participation in the game is uncertain.
On Friday morning, the Indian team will have an optional training session at Cantiague Park ahead of their only warm-up game before the tournament. India’s league games are scheduled for June 5 (against Ireland), June 9 (against Pakistan), and June 12 (against Ireland), all in New York. Their final league game is in Miami against Canada before heading to the Caribbean for the Super Eight matches and knockout contests.
