By Where and When to Watch Prabhudeva’s Jolly O Gymkhana
Prabhudeva stars in the dark comedy and suspense film Jolly O Gymkhana, directed by Sakthi Chidambaram. The movie will debut on Aha Tamil on December 30, 2024. It was first released in theaters on November 22.
The story follows Bhavani and her family, who run the Vellaikaaran Biriyani Hotel in Megnanapuram. Their business faces trouble when MLA Adaikalaraj scams them with a large catering order. The incident leaves Thangasamy, a key family member, hospitalized. Desperate for help, Bhavani seeks aid from a moneylender named Rocket Ravi.
Lawyer Poongundran (played by Prabhudeva) fights Adaikalaraj on behalf of 28 scammed families. Adaikalaraj’s men murder him to stop his efforts. Before his death, Poongundran intercepts Rs. 10 crore meant for voter distribution. Furious, Adaikalaraj hires a contract killer to eliminate him.
After Poongundran’s death, Bhavani and her family create a plan. They decide to use his body to spark public outrage.
The film features Abhirami as Chellamma, Yogi Babu as Father Martin Luther King, and Redin Kingsley as a bus conductor. Y.G. Mahendran plays Thangasamy. Robo Shankar takes on the role of Adaikalaraj’s henchman. John Vijay portrays Inspector Idithangi, while Sai Dheena plays the contract killer, Pottu Bhavani.
Jolly O Gymkhana mixes humor with serious themes of corruption and justice. Its engaging story and strong performances make it both entertaining and thought-provoking.
