Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram Set for a Limited New Year’s Eve Re-Release

Tollywood star Mahesh Babu’s film Guntur Kaaram is making a highly anticipated return to theaters with a limited re-release on New Year’s Eve, December 31. This special event aims to capture the festive spirit and draw devoted fans back to cinemas.

The makers announced the news on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, revealing that fans had already sold out special screenings, leading them to add extra shows to meet the overwhelming demand.

The film, which originally hit theaters on January 12 during Sankranti, brought Mahesh Babu and acclaimed director Trivikram Srinivas together for the third time after their previous hits Athadu and Khaleja. Despite high expectations, the movie struggled at the box office and earned only Rs. 129 crores.

Fans have shown renewed interest in the re-release, with audiences in Hyderabad already selling out four out of five special shows. After its OTT release, the film captivated a wider audience with its commercial appeal. The song Kurchi Madatha Petti also gained significant popularity on social media, further boosting interest.

Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, and Rao Ramesh play key roles in the movie, while Thaman S’s music adds charm and energy to the story.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is preparing for his next project, SSMB 29, with director SS Rajamouli. Reports suggest Priyanka Chopra will join the project as the female lead. The team is reportedly finalizing the script, and they plan to begin filming in 2025.
