The grand Mahajatara festival, which was inaugurated as part of the Telangana Kumbhamela, is taking place with great pomp. To facilitate the devotees’ visit to this festival, the Telangana RTC has deployed 6 special buses. Buses from all districts of the state have already been dispatched for this purpose. Particularly in areas with a high concentration of devotees, namely, Warangal Urban, Khammam, Karimnagar, and Adilabad districts, 51 camps have been set up. From there, these special buses are being arranged for transportation to the Mahajatara.
This move aims to accommodate the cancellation of devotees due to the festival being held only once in two years. These 6 special buses are being deployed in tandem with the Mahalakshmi Pathakam program in the procession route, as directed by the state government’s Transport Department Minister Ponnala Prabhakar, to ensure convenience for all devotees. They are taking all necessary steps to avoid inconvenience to devotees and are providing regular service despite the festival. The TSRTC has requested the Transport Department to provide services to ensure the safe arrival of devotees and RTCS passengers alike. Once the festival is over, proper arrangements will be made to provide adequate transportation facilities to the devotees to return home safely.
Meanwhile, 24 special buses will be arranged parallelly for the Mahadarshan Jatara held from February 21st to 24th in Ummadi, Karimnagar district, Peddapalli Mandal, Godavarikhani in Peddapalli district, Obulapuram in Rajanna Sircilla district, and Chilwakurthi Mandal in Jagtial district. Collectors of these districts have reviewed various measures with officials from different departments. They are ensuring cleanliness and providing temporary shelters and other facilities for the elderly, differently-abled, and pregnant women near the temples. Additionally, they are arranging for portable toilets, lighting, and parking spaces for vehicles in the vicinity of the temples. Continuous power supply arrangements are also being made.
These efforts are aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of devotees and other visitors during the festival and to provide a seamless travel experience.
