Superstar Rajinikanth is set to return as “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian in the highly anticipated sequel, Jailer 2. The announcement teaser, released on January 15, 2025, has sparked excitement among fans and industry insiders. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, currently working with Rajinikanth on another project titled Coolie, expressed his enthusiasm on social media, praising the collaboration between the superstar, music director Anirudh Ravichander, and director Nelson Dilipkumar.
The 4-minute teaser reveals Rajinikanth in a fierce yet playful avatar, engaging in lighthearted banter with Anirudh and Nelson, hinting at another action-packed installment in the Jailer franchise.
In the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, Rajinikanth portrayed a former jail warden whose life takes a dark turn after his police officer son goes missing. The film, a gripping tale of vengeance, was a massive success and featured a star-studded cast, including Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, and Tamannaah Bhatia, with cameo appearances by Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff.
Apart from Jailer 2, Rajinikanth’s upcoming project, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, promises to be another thrilling venture. The film features an ensemble cast, including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan.
