Samantha Ruth Prabhu on Envy After Naga Chaitanya’s Remarriage: ‘I Refuse to Let That Be a Part of My Core’
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has always been candid about both her personal and professional journey. In a recent interview, she addressed a commonly asked question—whether she feels envious of her ex-partners who have moved on. Her response was both assertive and introspective. She made it clear that, after all she has endured, there is no place for envy in her life.
Speaking with GQ India, Samantha reflected on the impact of envy, firmly stating that she does not allow it to take root in her mind. “I’ve been through too much in my life to dwell on such things. One quality I completely dissociate from is envy. I refuse to let it be a part of my core. Envy, in my opinion, is the root of all evil. Everything else is manageable, but there’s no space in my life for something as unhealthy as envy,” she said.
Beyond this, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has also spoken about the stigma surrounding divorce, particularly for women. In an interview with Galatta India, she highlighted the intense scrutiny and judgment that divorced women often face in society. She pointed out how women are labeled negatively after a marriage ends, with many being referred to as “second-hand” or having a “wasted life.” Samantha emphasized that societal norms often pressure women to feel like failures simply because their marriages did not work out. She acknowledged how difficult divorce can be, not just for women but also for their families, as they too bear the brunt of social criticism.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and actor Naga Chaitanya were married for four years before announcing their separation in 2021. Their split made headlines, sparking widespread discussion. In 2024, Naga Chaitanya moved on and tied the knot with actress Sobhita Dhulipala in an intimate ceremony held in Hyderabad.
On the professional front, Samantha is currently preparing for her next project, a web series titled Rakt Brahmand, where she will be seen alongside Aditya Roy Kapur. Her most recent appearance was in Citadel: Honey Bunny, directed by Raj & DK, where she starred opposite Varun Dhawan.
Despite the personal challenges she has faced, Samantha remains focused on her career and continues to advocate for self-growth and resilience. By openly addressing topics such as envy and divorce stigma, she has inspired many with her strength and determination to live life on her own terms.
