Overall, the box office performance of Viduthalai Part 2, directed by Vetri Maaran, remains impressive.
ETimes gave the film a rating of 3 out of 5. The review states, “Like Vetri Maaran’s other works, Viduthalai Part 2 offers rich detail. The film explores everything from the backdoor politics behind decision-making in power corridors to the reason Mahalakshmi sports cropped hair, as well as the methods used by activists. The director immerses us in the film’s world with these elaborate details. The film also shows how activists may sometimes get sidetracked in their pursuit of justice. It is most engaging when it portrays the discussions between authorities, who either try to cover up their failures or spin the developments in their favor. Rajiv Menon, especially as the chief secretary, stands out, skillfully capturing the body language and nuances of a powerful bureaucrat.”
