By Apple Introduces a New Shade for Its HomePod mini Smart Speaker: “Midnight” Black Replaces the Former Space Grey.
The midnight HomePod mini will be available to order on the 17th for Rs 9,999 in India and 31 other countries. It joins the current lineup of white, yellow, orange, and blue color options.
Although the new shade closely resembles the old space grey, Apple states that the midnight version utilizes 100% recycled mesh fabric, compared to the previous HomePod minis, which used 90% recycled materials. Aside from the color update, the HomePod mini maintains the same features and design.
New Midnight HomePod Mini: Features and Availability
- Compact and Versatile: Standing at 3.3 inches tall, the HomePod mini can stream music from Apple Music’s extensive library of over 100 million songs. Users can pair two units for stereo sound or utilize multiple speakers for a whole-home audio experience.
- Seamless Integration: Compatible with Apple TV 4K, the HomePod mini provides home theater sound. It also features Siri voice control for managing music, smart home devices, and various tasks. Additionally, it can detect smoke alarms and measure room temperature and humidity.
- Sustainable Design: The midnight color option, which replaces the previous space grey, uses 100% recycled mesh fabric. Previous models used 90% recycled materials. This change aligns with Apple’s larger HomePod speaker, now also available in midnight, ensuring product line consistency.
- Availability and Pricing: The HomePod mini, including the new midnight version, is priced at Rs 9,999 or $99 across all colors. It can be ordered online now and will be available in Apple Stores on July 17.
- Launch History: Initially released in November 2020, the HomePod mini’s color update suggests that a fully redesigned version may not be imminent.
