Superstar Rajinikanth upcoming action thriller Coolie has rapidly become one of the most anticipated films in Kollywood. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film marks the first collaboration between the two, sparking significant excitement among fans.
On August 27, Lokesh Kanagaraj took to Twitter to announce that official character reveals for Coolie would begin tomorrow at 6 PM. He shared a poster featuring a golden clock needle pointing to 6 PM, stained with blood, which hints at the film’s intense nature. His tweet, which tagged Rajinikanth and key crew members, has further fueled the anticipation.
Rajinikanth will take on a darker, more complex character in this high-octane gangster thriller, offering fans a departure from his usual roles. Excitement is building as they look forward to seeing him in this intense new persona. Sathyaraj will reunite with Rajinikanth after 38 years, playing his close friend in the film. Initially, the key role was offered to Nagarjuna Akkineni, but it ultimately went to Kannada actor Upendra Rao. The star-studded cast also features Shobana, Shruti Haasan, and Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir.
The teaser for Coolie, with its black-and-white theme and golden accents, hints at a plot involving smuggling and underworld operations. Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music, promising a gripping cinematic experience. Coolie is slated for release in the latter half of 2025.
