Makers of Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1 Release Official Statement Following Pre-Release Event Cancellation in Hyderabad
Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor’s much-anticipated film, Devara: Part 1, is set to hit theaters on September 27, and it’s already generating a lot of buzz. However, a pre-release event scheduled for September 22 in Hyderabad had to be canceled. The makers of the film released an official statement addressing the situation.
The statement expressed, “We were eagerly looking forward to this day, as we’ve put years of hard work into this film and wanted to celebrate it in a grand manner. This is especially meaningful since it’s the first solo release of our beloved Jr NTR, the ‘Man of Masses,’ after six long years.”
They further explained that they scheduled the event near Ganesh Nimarjanam, which typically requires at least a week of preparation for large-scale events. Additionally, recent heavy rains presented logistical challenges. While it didn’t rain on the day of the event, the unfavorable conditions and the overwhelming crowd, which broke barricades, made it unsafe to continue. For the safety of everyone involved, they had no choice but to cancel the event.
The team sincerely apologized to fans, especially those who traveled from different parts of the country to see their hero, saying, “We hope everyone has returned home safely. We deeply regret the inconvenience and are truly sorry for the situation. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Team #Devara.”
The chaos of the crowd became uncontrollable, prompting Jr NTR and director Trivikram Srinivas to leave the venue for their own safety.
Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1 also features Saif Ali Khan in a negative role, with supporting performances from Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and others.
