Prabhas Apologizes to Japanese Fans for Missing Kalki 2898 AD Screening Due to Shooting Injury

The blockbuster film Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, is set to be released in Japan on January 3, 2025. Prior to its premiere, Prabhas shared a heartfelt video message expressing his gratitude to his Japanese fans for their continued support.

In the video, posted on Instagram, Prabhas said, “Hello Japan. Thank you so much for the love you have shown me and my films over the years. I have been looking forward to visiting Japan for a long time. I’m really sorry that I couldn’t make it now due to a sprain I sustained while shooting. But I am feeling better now. I promise to see you all soon and celebrate the release of Kalki 2898 AD together. See you all on January 3rd in Japan. Arigato.”

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has become a global sensation, grossing approximately Rs 1200 crore. The film will be distributed in Japan by Twin, managed by Kabata Keizo.

Ahead of the release, director Nag Ashwin engaged with Japanese media and fans, sharing his excitement about the film’s reception in the country. He posted on Instagram about the immense affection shown by Japanese supporters, including letters written in Telugu, expressing their admiration. Nag wrote, “Sending full love back to you all. Arigato gozaimasu. We rarely feel overwhelmed, but the love from Japan is truly next level.”

The film was originally released in India on June 27 this year.
