Winter Rose Cinnamon Tea Recipe 🌹☕
A fragrant, warming herbal tea for cold days
Winter Rose Cinnamon Tea blends the gentle floral notes of rose with the warming spice of cinnamon. It’s caffeine-free, soothing, and ideal for chilly mornings or calming evenings. This recipe focuses on extracting clean flavors without bitterness.
Ingredients (Serves 1–2)
- Water – 2 cups
- Dried edible rose petals or rose buds – 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon stick – 1 small piece (1–2 inches)
- Fresh ginger – ½ teaspoon, grated (optional)
- Cloves – 1–2 (optional, for extra warmth)
- Honey or jaggery – 1–2 teaspoons (to taste)
- Tulsi or mint leaves – 3–4 (optional)
Step-by-Step Method
1) Prep the aromatics
Ensure the rose petals are food-grade and chemical-free. Lightly crush the cinnamon stick to help release its oils. Grate the ginger if using.
2) Bring water to a simmer
Add water to a saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat.
3) Infuse the warming spices
Add cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Reduce the flame and simmer for 5–7 minutes. This builds warmth and depth without overpowering the tea.
4) Add rose petals
Lower the heat. Add the rose petals (and tulsi/mint if using). Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes only. Roses are delicate—overboiling can make the tea bitter.
5) Steep and rest
Turn off the heat, cover, and let the tea steep for 5 minutes. This allows the floral aroma to bloom and balance the spices.
6) Strain and sweeten
Strain into cups. When warm (not piping hot), add honey or jaggery and stir.
7) Serve
Serve warm. Notice the light rosy-golden color and comforting aroma.
