Hollywood’s acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan is currently reveling in the glory of his latest release, “Oppenheimer,” which dominated the 96th Academy Awards. The celebrated director clinched two Oscars himself, while the Universal film secured a total of seven, including prestigious accolades like Best Picture and Best Director, along with trophies for actors Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. Amidst the grandeur of the award ceremony, Nolan had an unexpected encounter with a reporter who claimed to have shared a school background with the director.
Identified as Alison Boshoff from the Daily Mail, the reporter extended her congratulations to Nolan on the success of “Oppenheimer” at the 2024 Academy Awards. In a video shared by Variety, she could be heard saying, “Hi Chris, congratulations. It’s Alison Boshoff from the Daily Mail here. We were at school together.”
Nolan, seemingly taken aback by the revelation, responded with a request for discretion, asking the reporter not to delve into any school stories. However, delving into their shared past, Boshoff mentioned a particular teacher from their school days – ‘Mr. Turnbull’. Responding with a touch of humor, the filmmaker quipped that he hadn’t anticipated discussing their school days amidst the glamour of the Oscars night. “Wow! That’s not what I was expecting to talk about in this moment,” Nolan remarked.
