Perception and Reality: Amitabh Bachchan on Abhishek Film

Amitabh Bachchan Encourages Abhishek: Let Them Say What They Say While Reviewing I Want To Talk

Abhishek Bachchan’s film I Want To Talk, directed by Shoojit Sircar, released on Friday, November 22, and critics have widely praised it, especially Abhishek’s performance. They have hailed it as one of his finest roles, where he sets a new benchmark for himself. However, the film has not performed well at the box office despite receiving positive reviews. Amidst this acclaim, Amitabh Bachchan shared his heartfelt thoughts about the movie and Abhishek’s performance on his blog.

Big B described the film as immersive, saying, “Some films entertain you; others make you become the film. I Want To Talk does the latter. It gently lifts you from your seat and places you into the life unfolding on screen.” He praised Abhishek, stating, “You are not Abhishek in the film; you are Arjun Sen.”

Quoting his father Harivanshrai Bachchan, Amitabh shared profound words:
“The good saw good in me; the bad saw bad. Each person saw in me what they needed to see.”
He explained, “People form opinions based on their needs, not on who I truly am. Whether they view me as good or bad depends on their desires.”

Amitabh emphasized this truth about human perception and concluded with a sharp observation: “Your need to think good or bad about me defines how you recognize me, not who I actually am. This reflects the ultimate truth of life—judgments arise from the needs of those who judge.”

He ended with a philosophical tone, urging his followers to reflect deeply on his message and its implications, while highlighting the satire of judgment and recognition.
