Akshay Kumar Confirms Removal from Bhool Bhulaiyaa Sequels, Shares Hera Pheri 3 Update: ‘If All Goes Well, It Will Begin This Year’
Akshay Kumar, popularly known as Khiladi Kumar for his thrilling stunts and versatile roles, has also charmed audiences with his comedic performances. One of his standout films is the 2007 horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which became a classic and led to two sequels. However, Akshay’s absence from both sequels left many fans disappointed. Recently, the actor opened up about the reason behind his departure from the franchise.
When a fan shared that they avoided watching Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 due to Akshay’s absence, he humorously responded, “Beta, mujhey nikaal diya tha. (I was removed) That’s it.”
In addition to discussing Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Akshay also provided an update on the highly anticipated Hera Pheri 3. He revealed, “Even I am waiting to start Hera Pheri 3. I don’t know, but if everything goes well, it will begin this year.” Reflecting on the original Hera Pheri, Akshay shared, “When we started Hera Pheri, we had no idea it would become such a cult hit. Even when I saw the film, I didn’t fully grasp its impact. Yes, it was funny, but none of us expected the characters of Babu Bhaiya, Raju, and Shyam to become iconic.”
Akshay Kumar also took a moment to praise his co-star Paresh Rawal, calling him a genuinely funny person in real life. Recalling their time on set, he said, “We were shooting for Bhooth Bangla in Jaipur, and I had a lot of fun with him. During Hera Pheri, we had so much fun, but there are some things that can’t be said on camera,” he added with a smile.
