At its recent “It’s Glowtime” iPhone 16 launch event, Apple unveiled several new products, including four iPhone 16 models: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. In addition to the latest iPhones, Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 10 and the AirPods 4. However, despite widespread anticipation, a few products expected to receive major updates were left unchanged. Here are four devices that Apple skipped over for a significant refresh at the iPhone event:
Apple Skips Major Updates for Apple Watch SE and Ultra
- Apple Watch SE: Traditionally refreshed every two years, the Apple Watch SE was expected to see its third generation debut alongside the iPhone 16 series. The previous model was launched in 2022 with the iPhone 14. However, this year, Apple opted to focus on the Apple Watch Series 10 and introduced a Black variant of the Apple Watch Ultra 2, leaving the Apple Watch SE without a successor.
- Apple Watch Ultra 2: While many anticipated the release of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 at the iPhone 16 event, Apple chose to enhance the existing Ultra 2 instead. A new Satin Black color and some minor feature upgrades were introduced, but no entirely new model was launched.
