“Apple’s Latest M4 iPad Pros Receive Long-Awaited iPadOS 18 Update”

Apple rolled out iPadOS 18.0.1 on Thursday, finally enabling M4 iPad Pro owners to upgrade to the latest operating system following an initial delay. This update, released two weeks after iPadOS 18 first launched, resolves an issue that caused some M4 iPad Pros to freeze during the installation of the original update. In response, Apple had temporarily halted the rollout for these devices to fix the problem.

iPadOS 18.0.1 is now available for all iPads compatible with iPadOS 18, including the latest M4-powered iPad Pro models. Users can install the update by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update on their iPads.

iPadOS 18.0.1: Bug Fixes and Enhanced Features for M4 iPad Pros

Along with enabling the update for M4 iPad Pros, iPadOS 18.0.1 brings various bug fixes and optimizations, including:

  • Resolves an issue where the Messages app could unexpectedly crash when replying to a message with a shared Apple Watch face.
  • Addresses performance slowdowns caused by a memory allocation bug affecting some iPad models.

Originally released in September, iPadOS 18 introduces several new features such as:

  • A redesigned Control Center
  • Enhanced Home Screen customization options
  • Improvements to core apps like Photos, Safari, and Notes
  • The first-ever dedicated Calculator app for iPad

With the release of iPadOS 18.0.1, all supported iPads, including the latest M4-powered iPad Pros, can now benefit from these updates.
