Baked Pistachio Souffle 

Baked Pistachio Soufflé is a delightful and flavorful dessert that combines the richness of pistachios with the lightness of a soufflé.

Simple recipe Baked Pistachio Souffle :

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely ground
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing ramekins
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter four 8-ounce ramekins generously and dust them with granulated sugar, tapping out any excess. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the flour and whisk constantly for about 1 minute to cook the flour and create a roux.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming. Cook the mixture for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens and becomes smooth.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the ground pistachios, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  5. In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add in half of the granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  6. In another mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with the remaining granulated sugar until pale and thick.
  7. Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the cooled pistachio mixture until well combined.
  8. Carefully fold in one-third of the beaten egg whites to lighten the mixture, then gently fold in the remaining egg whites until no streaks remain.
  9. Divide the soufflé mixture evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them almost to the top.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the soufflés are puffed and golden brown on top.
  11. Remove from the oven and dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve immediately with whipped cream on the side.
