Barroz Earns Over Rs 5 Crore in 2 Days Despite Mixed Reviews

‘Barroz’ Box Office Collections Day 2: Mohanlal’s Directorial Debut Crosses Rs 5 Crore

Despite receiving mixed reviews from audiences, Mohanlal’s directorial debut fantasy film Barroz has earned over Rs 5 crores from India in just two days. According to Sacnilk, the film grossed Rs 5.05 crores in its first two days, with Rs 1.60 crores collected on Day 2, based on early estimates.

Barroz opened strong, earning Rs 3.45 crores at the Indian box office. The breakdown includes Rs 3.35 crores from Malayalam, Rs 5 lakhs from Tamil, and Rs 5 lakhs from Telugu.

In terms of occupancy, Barroz had a 24.29% overall occupancy for its Malayalam version on Day 2. The morning shows had a 11.03% occupancy, followed by 26.32% in the afternoon, 29.66% in the evening, and 30.13% at night.

The Telugu version saw a 17.31% occupancy on Day 2, with 20.33% in the morning, 16.44% in the afternoon, 12.29% in the evening, and 20.19% at night.

However, the film has received mixed reviews. ETimes rated Barroz 2.5 out of 5, with the review stating, “From the dialogue choices to dubbing, especially the Malayalam accent for some characters, one might question the thought behind these decisions. Half of the cast could have easily been selected from the abundant talent in Malayalam cinema. A bit more effort could have gone into casting the European roles as well. The portrayal of the African-origin occultist trying to be mysterious almost comes off as a blooper, with awkward hand movements and actions that seem out of place and even comical. ”
