The IPL 2024 season will kick off with defending champions Chennai Super Kings facing Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on March 22. The other finalist from the 2023 season, Gujarat Titans, will start their campaign against Mumbai Indians, led by former Titans’ captain Hardik Pandya, in Ahmedabad on March 24.
The BCCI has released a partial schedule for the first 17 days of the season, from March 22 to April 7, during which 21 matches will be played. This period will feature four double-headers. The season’s first afternoon fixture will see Punjab Kings take on Delhi Capitals in Mohali on March 23, while Kolkata Knight Riders will start their season at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the same day. Rajasthan Royals will also begin their season at home, facing Lucknow Super Giants on the first Sunday of the season.
The BCCI is expected to announce the remainder of the schedule after the Election Commission of India announces the dates for the General Election.
