“Congress targets three key Parliament seats with ‘Operation Greater’.”

Congress is pulling out all the stops to secure victory in Hyderabad’s three key parliamentary constituencies. Dubbed as ‘Operation Greater‘, the party’s strategy is to clinch the seats of Chevella, Malkajgiri, and Secunderabad. Notably, candidates from the Bahujan Revolutionary Socialist Party (BRS) have been fielded in all three constituencies, indicating a strategic alliance or a focused outreach to specific demographics.

“Congress Strategizes ‘Operation Greater’ for Key Parliamentary Seats”

The Congress party is intensifying its efforts to secure victory in the three parliamentary seats of Hyderabad through Operation Greater, spearheaded by the Hastam Party. In pursuit of this goal, the party has allocated tickets to candidates who recently joined from BRS.

In addition to financial resources, the Congress is also focused on recruiting MPs who wield significant public support. Moreover, party leaders are engaging in discussions with MLAs across the greater Hyderabad area, particularly targeting the mayor and prominent corporators. Over ten corporators, including Deputy Mayor Srilata Reddy, have already joined the Congress, with indications that thirteen others may follow suit.

Expanding its outreach, the Congress aims to attract GHMC Mayor Gadwala Vijayalakshmi, daughter of Kesha Rao, the current Secretary General of BRS and former Greater Hyderabad Mayor. Political dynamics are shifting, and the Congress is being seen as a potential ally amid changing equations. Leveraging historical ties, the Congress has reached out to the KK family, known for its close relations with late Congress member Priyaranjan Das Munshi.

Munshi’s outreach to the KK family holds significance, as they are well-connected politically. While Mayor Vijayalakshmi expresses reluctance to switch parties, Congress leaders remain optimistic about significant developments before the parliamentary elections. Following success in the assembly elections, the Congress aims to bolster its presence in parliament, despite the Greater Hyderabad region not yielding the expected number of seats. With this in mind, the Congress is determined to make significant strides in the upcoming elections.
