After making a notable appearance at the Oscars last year, Bollywood sensation Deepika Padukone is set to take on the role of a presenter at the upcoming BAFTA Awards. The acclaimed actress, who will be seen next in the grand project ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ is scheduled to present the prestigious golden mask on Sunday, February 18, according to Variety. She will join a stellar lineup of presenters, including David Beckham, Cate Blanchett, and Dua Lipa.
Sharing the stage during the ceremony will be renowned figures such as Adjoa Andoh from ‘Bridgerton,’ Hugh Grant of ‘Wonka’ fame, and Lily Collins from ‘Emily in Paris.’ Other confirmed attendees for the esteemed awards show include Emma Corrin and Gillian Anderson from ‘The Crown,’ Himesh Patel, and Idris Elba. While the specific categories for each presenter have not been disclosed, former Rising Star Award winners Emma Mackay and Jack O’Connell are set to present the coveted trophy. This year’s nominees for the Rising Star Award include Phoebe Dynevor, Ayo Edebiri, Jacob Elordi, Mia McKenna-Bruce, and Sophie Wilde.
The BAFTA Film Awards are scheduled to take place at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday night. A star-studded audience, including Barry Keoghan, Bradley Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Cillian Murphy, and directors Greta Gerwig, Christopher Nolan, Celine Song, and Yorgos Lanthimos, is expected to attend.
