The body of Tamil filmmaker Vetri Duraisamy, who was missing following a car accident on February 4, was found in river Sutlej in Himachal Pradesh on Monday. Vetri, the son of former Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy, was travelling with his friend when their car fell into the river near National Highway 5 in the Lahaul-Spiti area, close to Kashang Nala.
When we contacted the Himachal Pradesh police control room, they informed, “We had been conducting a rescue operation for the past nine days and on Monday, his body was recovered about 2.5 kilometres from the accident site. The local rescue team in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh discovered the body floating in the water at approximately 3.20pm close to Sundar Nagar. Following the post-mortem, the recovered body will be transported to Chennai.”
