BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao convened a significant meeting at his Erravelli farmhouse, bringing together key leaders including party working president K.T. Rama Rao, Harish Rao, and Kavitha. The primary agenda reportedly centered around strategizing for the upcoming Parliament elections, encompassing discussions on campaigning, candidate selection, and coordination efforts. This meeting marks the first extensive interaction between KCR and a considerable number of party leaders following the party’s setback in the Assembly elections.
Insiders reveal that Kavitha’s involvement in campaigning, coordination, and candidate selection remains nominal, with a substantial share of responsibilities entrusted to KTR and Harish Rao. During the last Assembly elections, KCR had limited himself to public meetings, while KTR and Harish Rao actively engaged in roadshows, rallies, surveys, and coordinating party activities.
Despite their efforts, the party faced defeat in the Assembly elections, prompting KCR to contest from two constituencies. While he lost in Kamareddy, his victory in Gajwel preserved his standing. With the general elections approaching, KCR tasked KTR and Harish Rao with reinvigorating second-rung leaders and party cadre who had become complacent after the Assembly election setback.
KCR emphasized the need for senior party leaders to coordinate among MP candidates, MLAs, and former MLAs. He directed that campaigning and related activities should be decentralized, assigning responsibilities to leaders in individual constituencies. The allocation of constituencies to MLAs and former MLAs is expected to be finalized in the coming days, as KCR urged the leaders to spotlight the Congress’ shortcomings in implementing the Six Guarantees.
