Liverpool crushes Sparta 5-1, Roma defeats Brighton in Europa League, Leverkusen, Marseille, Milan also triumph

Darwin Nunez’s late strike secured a 1-0 victory for Liverpool against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, while his brace helped Liverpool cruise to a 5-1 win over Sparta in the Europa League, taking them closer to the quarterfinals. Nunez’s second goal in Prague was Liverpool’s 1,000th under manager Jürgen Klopp, with Alexis Mac Allister’s early penalty setting the tone.

Liverpool’s dominance continued as Conor Bradley’s own goal briefly gave Sparta hope, but Luis Díaz and Dominik Szoboszlai added late goals to seal the comprehensive win.

Liverpool’s next challenge is a crucial clash against Manchester City, where Mohamed Salah made a return from injury as a substitute.

In another match, Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen needed a stoppage-time goal to draw 2-2 with Qarabag, extending their unbeaten run to 35 games this season. Patrik Schick’s header salvaged a point after Florian Wirtz had earlier reduced Qarabag’s lead.

Meanwhile, Roma’s resurgence under Daniele De Rossi continued with a 4-0 victory over Brighton, with Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku, Gianluca Mancini, and Bryan Cristante all on target. Marseille also impressed under Jean-Louis Gasset, defeating Villarreal 4-0, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang among the scorers.

AC Milan secured a 4-2 victory over Slavia Prague, with Olivier Giroud, Tijjani Reijnders, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek finding the net before Christian Pulisic sealed the win.
