Mohun Bagan Super Giant secured their first victory in four games in the Indian Super League by defeating Hyderabad FC 2-0 in Kolkata. The Mariners dominated the first half, with goals from Anirudh Thapa and Jason Cummings sealing the win.
Thapa opened the scoring in the 12th minute, showing excellent awareness to convert a corner kick amidst a scramble in the box. Cummings doubled the lead just before halftime, tapping in a pass from Manvir Singh.
Hyderabad FC struggled to make an impact in the second half, with Joseph Sunny and Amon Lepcha failing to trouble Mohun Bagan’s goalkeeper, Vishal Kaith. The win propels Mohun Bagan into the top four.
Mohun Bagan Super Giant will face FC Goa next on February 14, while Hyderabad FC will take on East Bengal FC on February 17.
