Noor Ali Zadran retires from international cricket

Afghanistan cricketer Noor Ali Zadran announced his retirement from international cricket on March 7, ending a career that spanned over a decade. Noor Ali played 2 Tests, 51 ODIs, and 23 T20Is for Afghanistan.

His final international appearance was in the recent one-off Test against Ireland. In ODIs, he scored 1216 runs at an average of 24.81, while in T20Is, he accumulated 597 runs with an average of 27.13.

Noor Ali’s journey began in April 2009 with Afghanistan’s first ODI against Scotland, where his explosive 28-ball 45 played a crucial role in Afghanistan’s victory. He later showcased his versatility in T20Is, including a notable half-century against India in the 2010 T20 World Cup.

His resurgence in 2023 led to a recall for the T20Is during the Asian Games, where his performances were instrumental in Afghanistan reaching the final against India.
