Paneer Bread Pakora Recipe

Make a paneer stuffing with crumbled paneer, onions, chilies, and spices. Sandwich the paneer between bread slices, dip in a seasoned besan batter, and deep-fry until golden. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup for a delicious snack.

Here’s Simple Recipe to make Paneer Bread Pakora:

Ingredients:

For the Stuffing:

  • 200g paneer (cottage cheese), crumbled
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste

For the Batter:

  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda (optional, for extra fluffiness)
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Other Ingredients:

  • 4-5 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Stuffing:
    • In a bowl, mix the crumbled paneer with chopped onion, green chilies, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander leaves, and salt. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Batter:
    • In another bowl, combine besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and baking soda. Add water gradually and whisk to make a thick, smooth batter without lumps. The batter should be slightly thicker than pancake batter.
  3. Assemble the Bread Pakoras:
    • Take two slices of bread. Spread the paneer mixture evenly on one slice and cover it with the second slice to make a sandwich. Press lightly.
    • Cut the sandwich diagonally to make two triangles. Repeat this with the remaining bread and stuffing.
  4. Frying:
    • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
    • Dip each bread triangle into the besan batter, ensuring it’s fully coated on all sides.
    • Carefully place the coated sandwich into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally. Fry 2-3 at a time depending on the size of your pan.
  5. Serve:
    • Once done, remove the pakoras and drain them on a paper towel.
    • Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
