Shruti Haasan’s Take on Beauty, Confidence, and Personal Choices

Shruti Haasan Opens Up About Nose Surgery and Fillers: ‘It Hurt, But I Made It Prettier’

Shruti Haasan, daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan and a leading actress in the South Indian film industry, has always been candid about her experiences with cosmetic procedures. Unlike many in the entertainment industry who choose to keep such matters private, Shruti has been open about undergoing enhancements, addressing the topic with confidence and honesty. Over the years, she has received both support and criticism, but she has never hesitated to speak her mind.

In a past interview on Hauterrfly’s show The Male Feminist, Shruti discussed her journey with cosmetic treatments, including getting fillers and undergoing nose surgery. She explained that her decision to fix her nose was not just for aesthetic reasons but also due to a medical necessity. Recalling her early days in the film industry, she shared how her nose had been broken before she entered cinema. However, despite this, many people dismissed her claims, believing she was merely using a medical excuse to justify cosmetic surgery.

“I did get my nose fixed, and it was very obvious. My nose was broken and quite different before. I did my first film with my old nose, and then people started saying, ‘She is just using the deviated septum excuse.’ But the truth is, I did have a deviated septum, and it was painful. However, I also thought that if I could make it look better in the process, why not? It’s my face,” she explained.

Apart from rhinoplasty, Shruti has also experimented with fillers, which she openly admitted during the interview. She confidently stated that she has no regrets about using fillers and, if she ever chooses to undergo a facelift in the future, it will be entirely her decision. “I’ve used fillers, and I don’t see the need to hide it. If I decide to get a facelift someday, that’s also up to me,” she asserted.

The Salaar actress has consistently emphasized the importance of bodily autonomy. She firmly believes that every individual has the right to make choices about their appearance without being judged by others. “It’s my body, and I respect the fact that everyone has their own choices regarding cosmetic procedures. I’m not here to promote or discourage anything. People should do what makes them feel comfortable and happy. Instead of focusing on my personal decisions, I would rather have people pay attention to my work,” she stated.

Addressing the scrutiny that often comes with being in the public eye, Shruti revealed that she has faced criticism regarding her looks since the beginning of her career. She recalled that she was frequently told she did not have the conventional appearance of a South Indian heroine. Some even remarked that she looked more foreign than Indian, leading her to question society’s rigid beauty standards. However, rather than letting such remarks affect her confidence, she embraced her individuality and continued to stay true to herself.

Shruti’s perspective on beauty and self-acceptance is shaped by years of navigating the entertainment industry. She has learned to disregard external judgments and prioritize her own sense of self-worth. “I know who I am, and I know what I want. People have always had opinions, but I’ve never let them define me. If changing something about my appearance makes me feel better, that’s my choice and mine alone,” she said.

Her candidness about cosmetic enhancements challenges the stigma that often surrounds such procedures, especially in the film industry. Many actors undergo transformations but choose to keep them private, fearing public backlash. Shruti, however, sees no reason to hide the truth. By speaking openly, she hopes to normalize discussions about cosmetic treatments and encourage people to make decisions that align with their personal comfort and confidence.

Through her fearless attitude and unapologetic honesty, Shruti Haasan continues to inspire many by breaking stereotypes and advocating for self-expression. While societal beauty norms may continue to evolve, she remains steadfast in her belief that every individual should have the freedom to make choices without fear of judgment. Ultimately, Shruti’s focus remains on her work and personal growth, proving that confidence and authenticity are far more important than conforming to unrealistic standards.
