The crucial decision from the center… Now, Telangana vehicles will have TG instead of TS!


The central government has approved the change from ‘TS’ to ‘TG’ on vehicle registration plates in Telangana. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued the notification on Wednesday. According to the notification released by the National Highways Ministry, the new prefix on registration plates will be implemented immediately. Ravi, a special representative from Telangana, confirmed this from his office in Delhi. The amendment is made under Section 41(6) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, through a notification dated June 12, 1989, issued by the Government of India.

The official notification has been published in the gazette. The Central Government has approved the change from ‘TS’ to ‘TG’ on vehicle registration plates. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways announced the gazette notification effective from March 12, 2024. It was stated that the purpose of this change is to enhance regulatory clarity and efficiency. New vehicles will have registration plates with the prefix ‘TG’ instead of ‘TS.’ It has been informed that this change applies to vehicles registered from now on. As a result, vehicle owners can also make changes to their old number plates and switch to the new rules, as reported earlier.

The Congress government, while taking over the administration in the Assembly elections, is implementing various significant decisions. While altering the policies of the previous government, new decisions are being made. They are restoring the path programs, such as Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bharosa, and reinstating double bedroom houses as Indiraamma houses. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has revealed that Telangana will now be referred to as ‘TG’ instead of ‘TS’, a decision made by the government.
