“Today Marks the Deadline for FASTag KYC – Act Now or Face Service Disruption”

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a crucial reminder to FASTag users amid recent restrictions on Paytm services by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In 2024, FASTag has strongly recommended completing the KYC (Know Your Customer) update by February 29. Failure to do so will result in the deactivation and blacklisting of the Fastag account. NHAI has recently introduced the One Vehicle-One Fastag system, emphasizing one FASTag per vehicle. This allows for the use of a single FastTag for multiple cars or linking multiple FastTags to a single vehicle.

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, FASTAG has reiterated the importance of updating KYC before the February 29 deadline. NHAI recommends a timely KYC update to ensure a seamless and uninterrupted toll payment experience on national highways.

Failure to meet the deadline may have consequences. If you do not update your Fasttag KYC details by February 29, your bank may deactivate or blacklist your account. Consequently, you won’t be able to use it at toll plazas, causing unnecessary delays and inconveniences during your journeys.

Updating your FASTag KYC is a straightforward process. Visit the IHMCL Customer Portal (https://fastag.ihmcl.com), log in with your registered mobile number, and verify using a login password or OTP. Access your profile, check your KYC status, and update if required. Alternatively, you can visit your FASTag issuing bank offline with necessary documents such as PAN number, ID proof, address proof, and a passport-size photograph.

Documents required for KYC include a valid Passport, Driving License, Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, NREGA Job Card, and Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC). This KYC update is crucial to prevent misuse of FastTags by multiple vehicles and to maintain compliance with RBI guidelines, as emphasized by NHAI earlier this month.
