On Thursday, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed a robust belief in India’s sustained economic growth, projecting a consistent 6-8% growth rate over the next decade. While addressing the audience at Raisina Dialogue 2024, Vaishnaw, who serves as the Minister of Railways, Communications, and IT, extended an invitation to global players to explore opportunities in both domestic and global markets within India.Asserting that India is open to the world and receptive to new ideas, Vaishnaw highlighted the current momentum in the Indian economy, emphasizing its steady growth at a commendable rate. He confidently declared, “In the next 10 years, India will continue to grow at a 6-8% consistent growth rate… I can say that with a high level of confidence.” According to him, the groundwork for this growth trajectory is already in place, with visible results, thanks to various growth initiatives undertaken by the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Vaishnaw outlined the upcoming five years as crucial for laying the foundation to propel India towards becoming a developed country by 2047. The minister emphasized that the focus during this period would encompass the entire spectrum of manufacturing, advancements in education, and the integration of technology in the healthcare sector, among other strategic priorities. As India positions itself for further economic development, Vaishnaw’s optimistic outlook reflects the government’s commitment to fostering growth across multiple sectors.
