Airtel Plans: Airtel Leaves Millions in Surprise with Unexpected Changes.

Bharti Airtel Chairman Sunil Mittal had foreshadowed in a recent interview that his company would be revising the pricing of its tariff plans, and indeed, this prediction has now materialized. Mittal emphasized the necessity of price adjustments to sustain the company’s position in the industry. Airtel has officially rolled out revised rates for two of its prepaid plans, namely the Rs 118 and Rs 289 4G plans.

Airtel has implemented price hikes on these prepaid plans, with the Rs 118 plan now costing Rs 129, and the Rs 289 plan now priced at Rs 329. The updated prices are reflected on the Airtel app and website. Let’s delve into the details of what these modified prepaid plans offer to users.

Airtel Rs 129 Plan:

The Rs 129 plan now provides users with 12GB of internet data, usable at any time during the prepaid plan’s validity. The data validity remains consistent with the users’ existing prepaid plan. However, this plan does not offer additional benefits beyond the increased data allocation. Previously priced at Rs 118, the per GB cost of internet data has risen from Rs 9.83 to Rs 10.75 post the price adjustment.

Airtel Rs 329 Plan:

Formerly priced at Rs 289, the Rs 329 plan now provides users with a 35-day validity period. Users can enjoy unlimited voice calling, 4GB of data, and 300 SMS during this period. Additionally, users will have access to Airtel Thanks benefits at no extra charge, including Apollo 24|7 Circle subscription, free HelloTunes, and Wynk Music.

Considering the historical trends in the Indian telecom industry, it is likely that other major players such as Jio and Vodafone Idea may follow suit and adjust the pricing of their prepaid plans in response to Airtel’s move.
