Apple is reportedly introducing the Headphone Accommodations feature to the Mac with macOS Sequoia. Since iOS 14, iPhone and iPad users have been able to customize their AirPods and Beats headphones experience using this feature. This feature amplifies soft sounds and adjusts certain frequencies based on the user’s hearing needs.
As reported by 9to5Mac, the Headphone Accommodations settings appeared in the initial beta of macOS Sequoia but were not operational at first. However, Apple has now resolved this issue in the second developer beta update, which was released earlier this week.
Accessing Headphone Accommodations on macOS Sequoia
For users with the latest beta version of macOS Sequoia:
- Navigate to System Preferences > Accessibility > Audio to find the Headphone Accommodations settings.
- Enabling this feature enhances sound clarity, making music, movies, calls, and podcasts sound “more crisp and clear.”
macOS Sequoia: Availability and Key Features
In addition to Headphone Accommodations, macOS Sequoia introduces new Continuity features, allowing users to mirror and interact with their iPhone screen directly on their Mac.
Furthermore, Apple has unveiled a standalone Passwords app, enabling users to manage their passwords without relying on third-party applications. Later this year, Apple Intelligence is anticipated to add a variety of AI-based features to the Mac.
macOS Sequoia is slated for a public release this fall. Currently, a developer preview is available, with a public beta scheduled to launch next month.
