Apple has begun distributing the iOS 18.0.1 update to iPhone users, just three weeks after the launch of iOS 18. In addition to several key bug fixes, this update resolves camera problems on iPhones, addresses microphone access issues on the iPhone 16, and fixes access issues in the Passwords app.
Key Fixes in Apple iOS 18.0.1 Update
Apple has updated the iOS 18.0.1 build to 22A3370, now available for all iPhones compatible with iOS 18. According to the release notes, iOS 18.0.1 delivers “essential bug fixes and security improvements” for iPhones. The update resolves the following issues:
- Touchscreen may become temporarily unresponsive under certain conditions on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models.
- Camera may freeze when recording in macro mode using the Ultra Wide lens in 4K with HDR disabled on iPhone 16 Pro models.
- Messages may unexpectedly crash when replying to a message that includes a shared Apple Watch face.
- Performance degradation caused by memory allocation issues on some iPhone models.
According to Apple’s support page, the iOS 18.0.1 update also includes important security enhancements.
