Apple is set to unveil its next-generation smartwatch with the iPhone 16 in September. New renders of the Apple Watch X (Series 10) have been leaked online. These renders support earlier rumors of a new magnetic band mechanism to boost the battery life of the Watch X models.
Apple Watch X Enhancements: What to Anticipate
Previously, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that the Apple Watch X might include a slimmer design and a new band attachment system that uses magnets. Currently, bands slide into slots on the top and bottom of the watch. This method consumes space inside the device, limiting Apple’s ability to fit a bigger battery for extended life.
Recent renders illustrate how the band may loop around a “handle” positioned at the top and bottom of the watch. This new approach would eliminate the need for grooves, freeing up space inside the watch for a larger battery.
Previous rumors suggested Apple might switch from OLED to microLED displays for the Apple Watch X. However, this change may not occur just yet.
The Apple Watch X is anticipated to have slimmer bezels and an OLED screen that is brighter and more energy-efficient than earlier versions. It is expected to deliver the best battery life of any Apple Watch to date.
