In an exclusive interview with The Indian Express, the actor-producer shared insights into how he encountered and developed affection for Sshura, a makeup artist. Contrary to public perception, he clarified that their union was not impulsive, highlighting the substantial time they spent together before deciding to tie the knot. Arbaaz also addressed the online criticism regarding their substantial age gap, with reports indicating that Sshura is 25 years younger than the 56-year-old actor.
Refuting age-related concerns, Arbaaz Khan remarked, “Though my wife (Sshura Khan) is much younger than me, it is not like she is 16-years-old. She knew what she wanted in her life, and I knew what I wanted in my life. We spent a lot of time together in that one year to really see what we expect out of each other, what do we want, and how are we looking at our future.We don’t make such decisions in a hurry.
When asked about the age gap and public reactions, he further explained, “It’s not like we were not aware of it or we hid it from each other. As a girl, she knew what she was getting into, and as a man, I knew what I was getting into. Two people of the same age can be together and probably separate in a year. So, is age the only factor that keeps relationships going? Ask yourself. In fact, whenever you see there is a very big age gap between marriages, they have far higher success rate.”
Arbaaz Khan’s romantic history includes a previous relationship with model Giorgia Andriani. His earlier marriage to Malaika Arora concluded after 18 years, with the couple finalizing their divorce in May 2017. They continue to co-parent their son, Arhaan Khan, born on November 9, 2002.
