Legal trouble has arisen for Vi Anand’s upcoming film ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona,’ starring Sundeep Kishan and Varsha Bollamma in lead roles, as distributor Vizag Satish seeks to halt its release. Vizag Satish alleges that producer Anil Sunkara of AK Entertainments tricked him, leading him to file a case at the Hyderabad City Civil Court.
According to Vizag Satish, he agreed with producers Anil Sunkara and Garikapati Krishna Kishore, under Adventures International, to distribute their films in Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh for five years, in exchange for Rs 30 crore. However, after the release of the 2023 film ‘Agent,’ Satish claims he was only given distribution rights for the Visakhapatnam district, which is not the same as per their agreement. Despite assurances from the producers and a written undertaking before the release of ‘Agent,’ promising to reimburse him, Satish alleges he has yet to receive the agreed-upon compensation. As a result, he has taken legal action to stop the release of ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona’ until he is compensated as per their agreement.
In response, the ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona’ team released a statement that the court has summoned the producers for a hearing on April 12. They assure that all issues related to the film have been resolved, and the movie will have a smooth release. The team expressed excitement about the film’s premiere shows receiving a positive response and announced its grand theatrical release on February 16.
