Rohit Sharma’s fifty helps India recover after horror start

In the third Test at Rajkot, India opted to bat but faced an early setback as Mark Wood dismissed both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill cheaply. Rajat Patidar’s quick wicket further deepened India’s troubles, leaving them struggling at 33/3. However, skipper Rohit Sharma stood firm, reaching an unbeaten 52 by Lunch on the first day.

Rohit sharma, after a cautious start, began to play more freely but survived a scare when Joe Root dropped a catch off Tom Hartley’s bowling. He also survived an LBW decision against James Anderson after an inside edge was detected on review. Rohit capitalized on these opportunities, playing some attacking shots to bring up his 17th Test fifty.

Ravindra Jadeja, promoted to No. 5, supported Rohit well as the two batsmen built a crucial 60-run partnership. Their partnership helped India recover from the early blows and stabilize their innings.

At Lunch, India was at 93/3, with Rohit Sharma leading the fightback after the initial setbacks.
