“Feast of Eid: Indulge in Chello Kebab Koobideh”

Chello Kebab Koobideh is a delicious dish perfect for celebrating Eid.

Preparation Of Chello Kebab Koobideh:


  • 500g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground sumac (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Skewers, soaked in water if wooden
  • Cooked saffron rice, to serve
  • Chopped fresh parsley or mint, for garnish


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, minced garlic, turmeric, sumac (if using), cumin, salt, black pepper, and yogurt. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
  3. Divide the meat mixture into equal portions and shape them into elongated sausage-like shapes around the skewers. Press the meat mixture firmly onto the skewers to prevent them from falling apart during grilling.
  4. Brush the kebabs with olive oil to prevent sticking and promote browning.
  5. Place the kebabs on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
  6. While grilling, occasionally brush the kebabs with the remaining olive oil to keep them moist.
  7. Once the kebabs are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  8. Serve the Chello Kebab Koobideh hot with saffron rice and garnish with chopped fresh parsley or mint.
